Our luncheon club is a friendly place to be on a Tuesday lunchtime every other month. All senior citizens are welcome whether they are church members or people from around the area. The lunch has been a regular event since 2003 and, I hasten to add, very popular - the average number of people coming is 40. This is a vision some church members have had since way back and when we got a new kitchen we were able to go ahead with this venture.
The lunch menu is varied - chicken in a cream sauce, cottage pie or maybe sausage and mash with some veg. A sweet may be crumble, trifle or apple tart followed by tea or coffee.
Food, glorious food
We hope this is a form of outreach to people who live on their own or who just enjoy eating in the company of others and you can be sure that there is always a warm welcome for everyone - please feel free to pass details on to friends who may not have access to the internet if they are likely to be interested.
Tickets are available at £3.00 - meet at 12.30pm for lunch at 1.00pm.
The next luncheon club will be in April. For more information contact Brenda Giles on 01633 421261.
